Product Designer (UI/UX Lead) at BlueConduit

BlueConduit is seeking a motivated product designer (UI/UX Lead) interested in working at a social enterprise, who will be able to:

  • Partner with lead product manager to identify market opportunities and customer pain points to develop strategic insights, while using Design Thinking to facilitate ideation sessions to generate ideas and build consensus.

  • Implement user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle to create great user experiences.

  • Design and develop storyboards, prototypes and wireframes for web-based products.

  • Conduct user research and user testing for client and public facing applications.

  • Collaborate across functional teams to ensure continuous improvement and delivery of internal, client, and public facing products.

  • Contribute  to the visual identity of our client and public facing applications and overall branding.

Core Competencies

  • Demonstrate understanding of and experience using user-centered design principles and best practices.

  • Can lead the product development process from discovery through prototype, pilot and MVP.

  • Learn from failure while embracing an iterative process and design experimentation.

  • Develop tools, workflows, and best practices that enable a tight development loop in developing, building, and deploying client-side web applications.

  • Familiarity with modern web best practices and technologies

  • Ability to rapidly produce high-quality, interactive prototypes and designs.

  • Comfortable working on a full stack team, where individuals practice a core competency, but must be able to learn quickly and unblock themselves when possible.

  • Extensive knowledge of common design software (Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Canva, etc.)

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in the product development lifecycle

  • Able to tackle complex, interconnected challenges and use design to both communicate that complexity and prototype interventions that provide clarity and simplicity

  • Strong presentation, storytelling and communication skills within a business context.

Necessary qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience designing client-side web applications

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating on software projects

  • Demonstrated experience with user-centered design principles

  • Competency with common design softwares (Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Canva, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Must be eligible to work in the US

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Past experience co-designing with community organizations in a public health or public safety context

  • Proficiency with git

  • Familiarity with best practices for public health messaging

  • Past experience supporting and collaborating with data scientists

  • Passion for human-centered design

  • Passion for the environment & community well-being
